K65 Sings and Rocks

Come and sing rock and pop music of the 1960s, with rhythm and harmony! Voice teacher Minsku Tammela makes her début at the Tampere Vocal Music Festival conducting the K65 pop-up chorus aimed at the youth of the 1960s. Over three days, the course takes a deep dive to the source of harmony singing in the 1960s: the Hollies, the Beatles, the Mamas and Papas and many other familiar names are visited. The songs are in English, and the catchy arrangements are in three parts for mixed voices.

Pre-registration no later than 4 May 2025 using the registration form.

The material is provided in the form of sound files and sheet music for practice about one month before the event. The only entry requirements are that you must be aged 65 or more and be enthusiastic about singing and learning new things. Being able to carry a tune and hold a harmony part and having prior experience of singing are a bonus.

The course fee is to be paid before the beginning of the workshop at the information desk of Tampere Vocal Music Festival in Tampere Hall. The course fee also entitles you to attend the Choir Review performances in the Main Auditorium.

The workshop continues on Friday and Saturday.
